Playing Basketball

There are many sports that people play. There are soccer, football, basketball, and golf. My favorite sport is basketball. It is the funnest sport of all.

I watch an NBA basketball game every Friday night. My brother and I yell, “YEAH!” when our favorite team wins. It is so much fun to watch the basketball players. When I’m not watching the game, I’m always thinking of playing basketball. When my teacher Mrs. Lu raises her left arm to point at an object on the board, I imagine that she is shooting a three-point shot.

My dad loves basketball, too. He bought tickets to an NBA basketball game and tool my brother and me to it. It was the best experience of my life. The crowd was very loud. Even I was yelling and cheering very loud. Also, my eyes were wide open for the entire game. They were very dry afterwards. I saw one of the players make shots and score many points.

Traveling to Different Places

When you go to another country, you should remember that you are a visitor and you ought to respect their customs and way of life.

Eating in different countries can be a puzzle. For example, in most European countries you should eat with a knife and fork, but in the United States, many people just use a fork. In some countries, such as Japan, Taiwan and China, people use chopsticks. You mustn’t point at people with your chopsticks because it’s considered rude. You also shouldn’t cross your chopsticks on your bowl. In India and many countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, people eat with their hands. It is important to remember that you must eat with your hand. You should never use your left hand.

There are different ways of showing that you have finished eating, too. In England, you should leave your knife and fork together vertically on the plate.

In some countries, you should leave a bit of food on your plate to show you have had enough. In other countries, you ought to try to eat everything on your plate. It’s very complicated

Language and greetings are difficult, too. You already know that in Japan, you should bow, and in Europe, you should shake hands when you meet someone. In France, you should greet people politely when you enter a shop, but in England, it’s not necessary. You should learn a few simple phrases, like“please” and “thank you”before you go to any country. If you don’t know the local language, you should try using English because so many people can speak English these days.

What A Nice Day!

What a nice day! The sky is blue and bright.

The air is sweet and fresh.

I take out my camera and go outside.

I walk along the beach with my camera.

First I see a little girl and her mom playing on the beach.

My dream

“Time for bed,” said Mom. I climbed into bed and closed my eyes.

I flew up to the moon.

I sat on a star.

I rode on a big blue bird.

I landed on a chocolate house.

My Noisy House

I have a noisy house.

In the living room, there’s a fish in a bowl on a table.

“SPLASH,” goes the water.

There’s a cat under the sofa. “MEOW MEOW,” says the cat.

In the kitchen, there’s a bird on the refrigerator.
