My dream
“Time for bed,” said Mom. I climbed into bed and closed my eyes.
I flew up to the moon.
I sat on a star.
I rode on a big blue bird.
I landed on a chocolate house.

Learning Discipline
Tom is a boy who lives in the city. He frequently becomes angry when he is hungry. His parents feed him many times a day to keep him happy. Before he goes to bed at night, his mother has to cook an extra meal for him. Tom is getting very fat and lazy. He does not even go to school anymore. Tom’s parents are sad. They don’t know what to do. Finally they decide to send him to his aunt and uncle’s farm in a small village.
“I hate this place. I am hungry. Give me food,” Tom yells.
His aunt replies, “On the farm, you must work to get food. You can grow your own vegetables and raise your own chickens. Your cousin, Joe, can help you.”
Tom does not like this and he yells at Joe. Joe gets up early every morning to water vegetables and feed the chickens before he goes to school. Tom looks at Joe and starts to cry. No one listens to him.
Ing-Ing’s Story
Ing-Ing moved to the United States when she was fourteen years old. Her parents send her to the United States so she could speak perfect English. When she first arrived in New York, she was very happy. She liked the tall buildings and shops in the big city. However, after school started, Ing-Ing became sad, The teacher was always saying something that she could not follow. Her classmates tried to talk to her but Ing-Ing could not understand them. Ing-Ing used to be a smart and popular student in school. Here she was nobody. She was even too scared to talk to anyone.
One day Ing-Ing sat in the school library feeling sorry for herself. She said to herself, “My parents thought it would be easy for me to learn English in the U.S., but it’s very difficult. What should I do?” Suddenly, she heard a voice from behind her. It said, “Maybe you should read some easier books first.” Ing-Ing turned around. It was her English teacher! The English teacher introduces to her some children’s books with beautiful pictures. She also taught her to look up new words in the dictionary.
Those books were very interesting. Ing-Ing could finish several books in a day. Ing-Ing felt more and more comfortable with the English language. Very soon, Ing-Ing was again a smart and popular student in her new school and could speak perfect English!
Great help
John is a nice young man, and he loves to help people. When he sees someone needs help, he will give that person a hand.
One day, on his way home, he saw an old lady standing on the corner of the street, and she was looking around. John thought, ” She must need someone to help her to cross the road.” Therefore, he went to the old lady and said, “Look out! No need to put yourself in danger. Let me help you cross the road.”
“No, I just…” the old lady wanted to say something, but John didn’t listen.
“Don’t worry, you can count on me. The light’s green now, let’s go.” John then helped her cross the road.
Playing Basketball
There are many sports that people play. There are soccer, football, basketball, and golf. My favorite sport is basketball. It is the funnest sport of all.
I watch an NBA basketball game every Friday night. My brother and I yell, “YEAH!” when our favorite team wins. It is so much fun to watch the basketball players. When I’m not watching the game, I’m always thinking of playing basketball. When my teacher Mrs. Lu raises her left arm to point at an object on the board, I imagine that she is shooting a three-point shot.
My dad loves basketball, too. He bought tickets to an NBA basketball game and tool my brother and me to it. It was the best experience of my life. The crowd was very loud. Even I was yelling and cheering very loud. Also, my eyes were wide open for the entire game. They were very dry afterwards. I saw one of the players make shots and score many points.
My Dog Ate My Homework
It was eight o’clock in the morning, and Jimmy was still sleeping. His aunt ran in yelling, “JIMMY! Wake Up! You need to get to school!” Jimmy got up fast, and ran to class. He just reached his desk when the bell rang.
“Good morning students,” said Mr. Wang, his English teacher. “Did everyone do their homework yesterday?”
“Yes, Mr. Wang,” said everyone…except Jimmy.
“Please bring your homework to me.” Everyone was getting up and giving him their papers…except Jimmy.
The Boy And The Wolf
Once there was a shepherd boy who looked after a flock of sheep on a hillside. He was young and there were wolves in the area. So his kind neighbors promised to come to his help if he saw a wolf. All he had to do was to shout “Wolf!” loudly and they would come to help him.
One day, the boy shouted “Wolf!” just for fun. All his neighbors came rushing to his help. They were very angry with him when they found there was no wolf.
The next morning, the boy again shouted “Wolf!” even though there was no wolf. Again the neighbors came. They were even angrier when they found there was no wolf.
The Busy Giant
Across the river, over the hills, there is a mountain.
A very big mountain.
On top of the mountain, there is a house.
A very big house.
Inside the house, there is a giant.
