Great help
John is a nice young man, and he loves to help people. When he sees someone needs help, he will give that person a hand.
One day, on his way home, he saw an old lady standing on the corner of the street, and she was looking around. John thought, ” She must need someone to help her to cross the road.” Therefore, he went to the old lady and said, “Look out! No need to put yourself in danger. Let me help you cross the road.”
“No, I just…” the old lady wanted to say something, but John didn’t listen.
“Don’t worry, you can count on me. The light’s green now, let’s go.” John then helped her cross the road.
Just when John started to feel happy about having done something good, the old lady spoke out, “Young man, I …” John stopped her and said, “ I know what you want to say. Thanks to me, it was nothing.” “I don’t want to thank you, young man,” she said angrily, “I just asked someone to help me cross the road few minutes ago, but now I have to do it again!”
