The Boy And The Wolf
Once there was a shepherd boy who looked after a flock of sheep on a hillside. He was young and there were wolves in the area. So his kind neighbors promised to come to his help if he saw a wolf. All he had to do was to shout “Wolf!” loudly and they would come to help him.
One day, the boy shouted “Wolf!” just for fun. All his neighbors came rushing to his help. They were very angry with him when they found there was no wolf.
The next morning, the boy again shouted “Wolf!” even though there was no wolf. Again the neighbors came. They were even angrier when they found there was no wolf.
Not long after this, a wolf really came. It began to attack the sheep. The boy shouted “Wolf, Wolf!” many times at the top of his voice, but nobody came to his help. The neighbors just thought he was trying to trick them again.
