The Gingerbread Man
Once there was an old man and an old woman. They lived in a little house on top of a hill.
One day the old woman had an idea. She took an egg and a cup of flour and some other things. Then she made an unusual little man out of gingerbread.
She put the little man on an upper shelf of the oven to bake. When she opened the oven to get him out, the Gingerbread Man jumped up and ran out of the house and down the hill.
With an ache in her heart the old woman watched him run away.
